Janelle recently mentioned getting some handy information from the depths of
her knitting blog, and it inspired me to look and see how long I'd been doing this. As fate would have it, today is the 10th anniversary of the first post of Knitting Sweaters & Sitting Still!
I've almost abandoned this blog a few times. Blogging isn't really the thing it used to be. There are so many more social media outlets for getting your knitting information out there that I wasn't aware of back in 2006. And there was no
Ravelry, so the blog was an important part of the way I tracked my progress as a knitter. But I find I still kind of need it. Writing a bit about the things I'm making is useful. It helps me put my work in context, and think about projects and how they relate to the world around me. Not that my knitting is changing the world, but it has changed me.
So I'll probably keep this going for a while, although it's obvious I've posted less and less over the years. In the last two months of 2006 I wrote more posts than I have in the first 11 months of 2016. But 10 years is a pretty big milestone. To celebrate, here are some of my favorite photos of projects from over the last 10 years.

I hope you don't stop writing the blog. I only found you a couple of years ago and I love looking at the quality of your work.
ReplyDeleteI think I'll keep it going for a while -- thanks for reading!
DeleteDitto what Sue said! (Although I'm of course guilty of lapsing out of regular posting myself!)
ReplyDeleteYour collection of FO's here (however often) is a stunning array of knitting to such a standard as to be both instructive and inspirational!
I seem to be much more off than on these days, but I hope to keep posting. And thanks for the kind word! It was hard to pick favorites...
DeleteI love this overview of your last knitting decade. I feel that I know some of these projects well, but others had slipped from my memory. It was nice to revisit them!
ReplyDeleteI can't believe you skipped Cowlapalooza though!
I had to pick these quickly -- I was under a self-imposed time crunch. I'd kind of forgotten about Cowlapalooza!
DeleteMazel Tov on 10 years!
ReplyDeleteThanks, Chuck!
DeleteStephen, I appreciate your efforts and enjoy your writing. Happy 10!
ReplyDeleteThank you, Sue! Glad you enjoy it.
DeleteWith apologies to RuPaul, Conblogulations!
ReplyDeleteI hope you keep the blog going. Even though I love Instagram etc., the blog offers a much more expansive way to talk about your knitting projects.
As Tatiana would say, "Thank you!"
